Jesús Meiriño-Gómez graduated from the University of Vigo in 2009 with a BA in Translation and Interpreting, and was awarded an MA (Hons) in Legal and Business Translation from the University of Alicante in 2010. He is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Vigo. His dissertation focusses on the translation of popular economic texts from English into Spanish, with particular attention to how metaphors and their linguistic realisations are affected by this process of transference. He was formerly attached to the project ‘Gender Identity: Child Readers and Library Collections,’ and is now a research assistant in the ‘Interlingual Live Subtitling for Access’ project. Jesús has also taught as a guest and sessional lecturer in Translation in the Department of Translation and Linguistics at the University of Vigo.
